Sandstorm

This abstract is inspired by a drive through the Arizona desert during a sandstorm. Warm colors are applied with transparency or thick layers expressing the unusual light through the sand in the air. From pale shades of yellow to dark brown the painting is capturing the feel of the desert. Strong contrast creates dramatic effect and touches of soft blue take the viewer to the next moment, when a sand-free sky will appear, like a promise of a good day filled with sunshine.
