Ancient Ruins I

A part of a diptych, Ancient Ruins I can be displayed individually, as a part of a gallery wall or as a pair with its mate Ancient ruins II. This light painting is inspired by ruins from the Roman empire near the Black sea. The color palette represents the sea, the stones and bricks. The aquarelle-like technique is very spontaneous and free. Spills, smudges, blending and thick paint, applied with palette knife, warm and cool colors, light and dark, create a rich palette and express the historic site's ambiance.
